Climate change, its consequences and how to stop it has been discussed for years. The EU F-gas regulation, which has been in force since 2015, now regulates the next milestone for the commercial refrigeration industry.

F-Gas Ordinance
From January 1, 2022, hermetic (= plug-in) refrigerators and freezers may no longer be placed on the EU market if they contain CFC refrigerants with a GWP of 150 or more. The F-Gas Ordinance aims to reduce emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases by two thirds by 2030 compared to 2014. The regulation primarily affects HFC, SF6 and PFC gases.
The next regulation of the F-Gas Ordinance will also come into force on January 1st, 2022. According to the EU directive, emissions must be reduced by 70% compared to 1990. The regulation primarily affects fluorinated greenhouse gases, which are mainly used in industry. The aim is to create incentives for the use of alternatives to conventional F-gases.
